Artist's Statement

Dance is nothing more, and nothing less than a humble sharing of where we are in our own human existence at any given moment. It envelops the now-ness, and maybe, just maybe, allows a vantage point from which investigations can quietly and authentically take place.

As an artist, I’m after the root of things. I aim to get right to the heart of “it” and let the questions bubble up and froth over. I am curious as to where dance and social impact meet. What can dance do?

I am a collaborator by nature and find a creative well-spring when in space with students, artists, and anyone willing to do the work. My research embodies play, rigor, and the unknown. I create from a place of trust, and a deep desire for truth. Currently, my work is rooted in studies of modern dance techniques, somatic practices, grief work, taekwondo, writing, and a curiosity for the intrinsic.
